I wish I had known about this site before I started trying to root my first BLOX2. My enthusiasm got way ahead of my knowledge and skills, and the poor little BLOX2 is about as dead as can be — I am pretty sure. My PC (Windows 10 Home 64bit) doesn’t make a peep when I plug the phone in via usb, no combination of buttons gets any response, and the little red light will not blink regardless of whether I am pushing buttons or plugging it into its OEM charger, or connecting it to the ‘puter by USB.

Anyway, I fell in love with the phone in the few days before I started destroying it, and so I am now attempting to Root my second BLOX2. I don’t want to hard brick this one too. I cannot afford to buy another replacement. (This is not the first phone I have hard-bricked, unfortunately.)

This is why I was thrilled to find this site! Unfortunately, my bad phone mojo seems to have followed me here. This morning I have been trying to root my new BLOX2 with Draco’s Auto-Root, and I cannot even seem to do that right.

I copied and pasted the info from the screen:

    >>>> Here is my first attempt:
    >>>> I started with the phone turned on in normal/system mode
    >>>> I went into settings and turned on OEM unlocking and verified that USB debugging was already on.
    >>>> This seems to be the last thing I did right… Here is the printout:

    Beginning auto root…

Attempting to boot to the bootloader…

    * daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *

    * daemon started successfully *

    error: device not found

    Unlocking bootloader…

    >>>> After several minutes of no apparent activity, I rebooted the phone manually into bootloader
    >>>> I then received:

    (bootloader)    Device already : unlocked!

    OKAY [  0.005s]

    finished. total time: 0.005s

    Waiting for device…

    >>>> after several minutes of nothing I gave up

    >>>> I Killed B2TK

    >>>> I Rebooted the Phone

    ***************************** ATTEMPT #2 ******************************

    >>>> This time I started in bootloader mode

    >>>> A first screen flashed by before I could read it or copy its contents.

    >>>> After that, all that appeared was this:

    Waiting / Requesting root privledges………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

    >>>> After MANY minutes — I went down to the basement to scope out a project I have to do down there and then returned to the ‘puter. I gave up again.

Now I am afraid to do anything, for fear of bricking yet another phone!

Any advice would be most appreciated!!!

I also had problems with getting root…….You can read what I did here:  https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/blu-life-onex2

There is a fairly active group working with the X2 & X2 Mini (I own a Mini)—you will find a good amount of answers there.  I’m a Linux user & with my phone plugged in issued a “adb reboot” , but read what I did in the forum thread.

Sorry to hear about your problems—I went thru my own problems getting root on my X2 Mini. For more information: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/blu-life-onex2 is the XDA Developers area for X2 & X2 Mini—threads are reasonably active there.

Sorry about the double post. didn’t realize that it took a bit before the post shows up.

    Thanks for your quick reply!

Your post on XDA told me what I needed to know, ie, that I should just keep fighting through it — slowly and incrementally and logically and CALMLY. I highlight calmly because I realized upon review that for my second attempt pasted in above, I inadvertently switched from BLOX2 Autoroot to BLOX2 Toolkit without even realizing it. (No wonder the printout was so different. Duh.)

I think I’ll post about how I got through the whole thing over there, i.e., on XDA. I do want to mention though that I finally did succeed with the help of BLOX2 Core, which is also by the brilliant team of DRAX & ieatgravity.

Glad to hear that you got it…I pulled some of my hair out before getting there…..I’m on the newest version of Magisk & it works great…posted the link on XDA.
